Probably the fanciest restaurant in Zipolite with the most upscale menu serving a variety of contemporary Mexican cuisine. Gay owned and the owner Javier's touch is everywhere in the art decorating the walls (which he painted) to the creative menu and space. Great for groups with a special group room available.

Some friends and I had a spectacular meal at La Providencía a few nights ago...there was so many delicious options on the menu that we all had to have 3 courses! And for the quality of the food, the price was very reasonable...i had three appetizers and 2 very strong drinks (try the Margarita Oaxquena, it is made from Mezcal instead of Tequila) for 350 pesos (less than $30 US). The owner Javier was great too, had a wonderful dry sense of humour and was there when we needed him. I love his art too..make sure you check out the painting in the bathroom...!
