Xalapa is the capital of Veracruz state. Sometimes spelled "Jalapa" (but always prounounced "ha-la-pa", this urban delight houses not only the government of Veracruz state but also the Universidad Veracruzana, a lively arts scene, a convivial café life and a sophisticated, chic population.
The Xalapa gay pride march is in June.
The nearby city of Coatepec is known for its coffee and has an annual pride march though we don't know of any LGBT places.
