San Miguel de Allende, or just SMA, is a city famous for its art and artists and has a huge expat community. While it doesn't have many exclusively gay places, almost everywhere is very LGBT welcoming as the residents value diversity and creativity.
To arrive here takes about 4 hours by car or bus from Mexico City or you can fly into either León/Guanajuato airport or Queretaro airport, both about 1.5 hours drive away.

I'm planning to spend several months living in San Miguel starting this March, 2016. Single gay man so concerned that there may not be social opportunities and other outlets available in large towns and cities. Anyone have advice or experience to share?
