San Cristóbal de las Casas is one of the Pueblos Magicos (Magical Towns) of Mexico with a strong presence of both tourists and expats. The scene is very open minded, with people from all over the world visiting and living there including many gay couples. There are a lot of bars and restaurants including now a gay bar and pretty much everywhere is gay friendly and you can see gay couples and groups of gay friends walking around the city free with no need to hide anything. Their pride march is in June.
