There are significant LGBT populations living in the beach towns of the Nayarit Rivierra such as Sayulita, San Pancho (San Francisco), Bucerias, Nuevo Vallarta and San Blas. These places have access to the huge gay scene in nearby Puerto Vallarta but are quieter and there aren't any exclusively gay nightspots there. The places with the most to offer LGBT visitors are:
Sayulita is a beach town known for its surfing and bohemian vibe. You\'ll find a active party scene albiet nothing LGBT specific. And there's a substantial influence of alternative culture with yoga studios and vegetarian restaurants competing with the surf shops and bars. They have an annual pride march in June.
In Spanish, Pancho is the nickname for Francisco so everyone calls San Francisco "San Pancho". It's a progressive town of artists, hippies, yoga retreats and a substantial LGBT community. You won't find much in the way of nightlife and nothing exclusively gay but many love its alternative vibe.
