Mexico City doesn't end at the borders of CDMX but continues sprawling into México State which actually is the largest state by population. LGBT+ places can be a bit more scattered and hard to find but there are still on huge number of options for clubs, bars, saunas and more both in the bedroom communities of Mexico City but especially in the capital Toluca. Please see our pages for:

  • Toluca Valley - The state capital Toluca and the adjoining city of Metepec have by far the most options for LGBT visitors. You may also find some options in Mexicaltzingo, Nicolás Romero and the other cities nearby.

  • Central Mexico State - Much of the population of Mexico State is the central area just north of Mexico City where many workers commute daily to CDMX where they also may go for nightlife. Ecatepec is the largest city by population in Mexico State and Coacalco, Cuautitlán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Tlalnepantla de Baz, Atizapán and Huehuetoca all have businesses catering to the local LGBT community.

  • East Mexico State - More sprawling communities spread east from Mexico City and the airport such as Nezahualcóyotl, Los Reyes La Paz, Tenango del Aire, Texcoco and Valle de Chalco

  • South Mexico State - Further south, the state is less dense and the cities less populous and there are fewer LGBT options but some exist in places such as Tejupilco.

We do not currently know of any LGBT options in the further north region of Mexico State. Let us know if we're missing something!
