Mexico City has a huge number of options for guys to get laid (sorry women, there's not much for you). We've separated our listings below into the categories: bathhouses/saunas, sex clubs, porno cinemas, sex shops, and bars with darkrooms (as opposed to sex clubs with bars).

There are a ton of bathhouses/saunas in Mexico City, some of which are traditional places that have a mixed crowd but with cruising, and some which are gay-only sex spaces. The facilities vary but generally you'll find a "baño de vapor" (steam room), a jacuzzi, sometimes a dry sauna and a darkroom or cruising maze. Some have private rooms, some have booths that you can close the door to. Most have at least a basic bar with beer, soft drinks and sometimes snacks.

Cabina cruising clubs like this one are an evolution of the cabins that were in the back of sex shops or internet cafes.

Sex clubs / cruising clubs are a bit different and the options here have exploded in the last decade. Some are just a collection of semi-private booths, some have a darkroom, some have a maze. All sell some sort of drinks and a few have a full bar. Most have a lounge to hang out, some have themed sex rooms (a jail cell and a subway car for example) and a few even have a dance floor and a DJ but the line between sex club with a bar and bar with a darkroom is usually clear. There is generally a clothes check and a dress code which can vary by night but is most often just underwear.

There are still several old-school porn cinemas in Mexico City that are more cruising spots than places to watch the screen. They are usually a bit run-down but they can be fun. If you're looking for a place to bring someone (or in some cases find someone) for sex, we've listed some LGBT friendly love hotels. And we've listed the sex shops which are cater mostly to the LGBT community for supplies and toys. There are many more general sex shops in the city.

Finally, there are a few bars that have darkrooms. The focus in these places is more on the bar, and the darkroom is just an added bonus, but in some the action shifts from the bar to the darkroom as the night goes on. You'll find a full list of bars on the bars page, the ones below are those with significant darkrooms. Some of the regular parties listed on the bars page under popups also have darkrooms. If you are planning to visit the darkroom in these places, consider checking your wallet and phone as pickpockets can be a problem.

Baños Finisterre

Old style bathhouse which is not explicitly gay, no pride flags to be found here, but which is primarily frequented by gay men. Action occurs in the private rooms and in the steam rooms. The only area where it may not be allowed is in the showers. Sometimes they have rooms available, but it depends on how crowded it is. There is one particular small, dark space where there tends to be more full on action. Don't expect a modern gleaming space, this is pure old school, though there have been a few updates of late. Also often referred to as Baños San Cosme as it's a short walk from the San Cosme metro.

Two level bar attracts a more macho crowd (albeit infrequently men in leather) and a good mix of young and older, local and foreign. DJs play an incredible variety of music and video with everything from porn on the big screens to musical theater. Naked gogo boys on the bar. Varying cover charge often comes with several beer tickets. Tuesday can be the busiest day as it was where they pioneered the promotion of a cover with many beer tickets (was 6 now 5).
