The Roma neighborhood is a little grittier and less green than next door Condessa but it makes up for it with the hippest bars, restaurants, cafes and galleries. With lots of beautiful architecture, some restored and some crumbling still, the neighborhood has lots to see.

Some streets to check out include Alvarro Obregon east of Insurgentes for its trendy sidewalk restaurants, Plaza Luis Cabrera for people watching and Colima street from Insurgentes to Merida for high end restaurants and galleries in restored mansions. While Roma doesn't have a concentration of gay businesses like Zona Rosa this is where a lot of gay people live and street cruising (or Grindr or Scruff) will show you how many gay people live in the neighborhood.
